Narromine Shire Council required a system to treat water from an unsecure earthen-walled aquifer that is high in metals and organics. The water source is also susceptible to spikes in turbidity and seasonal algal blooms. The water treatment process needed to be capable of operation at full capacity for a few hours a day and producing potable water compliant with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG)

SHE Aqua supplied Narromine Shire Council with an integrated treatment solution for the council’s Tomingley water treatment plant (WTP). The multiple-barrier treatment process features next-generation ceramic membrane filtration technology characterized by its high flux, superior mechanical & chemical resistance, and ease of maintenance. This solution is the first of its kind in Australia, and provides valuable process insights to other councils and utilities looking for reliable cost-effective solutions for their water treatment needs.
